The Cranberries are celebrating the 33rd anniversary of their groundbreaking debut Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? with a special deluxe edition arriving on May 22 via Island/UMe.
The album, which hit number one in both the UK and Ireland and has sold over six million copies worldwide, spawned two top ten singles in ‘Dreams’ and ‘Linger’, cementing the band’s place in rock history and showcasing the unique vocal talent of the late Dolores O’Riordan, whose passing in 2018 sent shockwaves through the music world.
The 33rd Anniversary Deluxe Edition comes in seven configurations, with expanded editions featuring completely new 2026 stereo mixes by original producer Stephen Street, track-by-track notes from the band, art notes from original designer Cally Callomon and photographer Andy Earl, assorted remixes, and Spanish reinventions of ‘Linger’ featuring Mexican bedroom pop artist BRATTY and ‘Dreams’ featuring Oaxaca’s ANASOF. A remix of ‘Linger’ by CHVRCHES‘ Iain Cook is also included, adding a dreamy electronic reimagining to the package.
Guitarist Noel Hogan reflected on the album’s origins, recalling that the band came from a small town in Ireland where things like worldwide success simply did not happen, calling the whole experience fairytale material. Drummer Fergal Lawler added that the memories of recording at Windmill Lane 2 in Dublin with Stephen Street remain vivid, and that they always knew he would capture the Cranberries sound perfectly.
The deluxe editions include bonus tracks ‘Reason’, ‘Them’, ‘What You Were’ and ‘Liar’, alternative mixes, and live recordings from The London Astoria II in 1994. Formats range from a 3LP deluxe vinyl and 2CD deluxe to standard remastered LP, CD and digital editions.
Over three decades on, this album still resonates. For anyone who has ever been stopped in their tracks by O’Riordan‘s voice drifting through ‘Linger’ or felt the pull of ‘Dreams’, this reissue is a fitting tribute to one of the most distinctive debut albums in rock.
