The start of 2026 is going to be a busy one for The Hara. The Manchester band has a new single out in ‘Kings’, taken from a new album titled The Fallout that will be out on 23rd January through Mascot Records, with launch shows in both their hometown and London, followed by a UK tour the following month that will see them through to March.
“This song is about losing trust,” said the band regarding ‘Kings’. “It’s hard to know what’s real sometimes in an industry built on dreams. When so many people make promises they can’t keep, you start to become cynical of everyone.”
Continuing, they noted: “Even when you have success, you believe there’s always got to be a catch, or it won’t last forever. There is still an undertone of hope and belief portrayed through the lens of anger and frustration in this song, though.”
You can listen to ‘Kings’ here at RAMzine to judge for yourselves. ‘Kings’ follows in the wake of previous single ‘Violence’, which featured As December Falls vocalist Bethany Hunter Jiménez, also taken from The Fallout.
“Each song is a representation of the suffering I feel internally and how it manifests itself in different ways throughout my everyday life, relationships, and as the frontman of The Hara, having to deal with the chaotic ups and downs of band life that we already face,” said Josh Taylor, the band’s singer. “I’m still learning to find healthy ways to cope with my mental health, but sometimes in the moment, it’s easier to self-destruct, because even if the resulting effect is negative, it’s still better than facing the unknown, The Fallout.”
Featuring Jack Breen on guitar and drummer Jack Kennedy, alongside Taylor, The Hara has been together since 2017, their music incorporating alternative rock, metalcore, and emo. The band has played internationally.
