Hailing from Manchester, alt-rock outfit The Perps has a new single out and despite its title being ‘Rocket in My Head’ it’s been described as their “most emotionally charged release to date”.
Out via Golden Robot Records and a departure from their more raucous tones, ‘Rocket in My Head‘ is a moody, melancholic anthem. At its core, the track is said to be a poetic and mournful exploration of unbreakable, dysfunctional love and the grief of losing it.
“This song is almost a reflective sonnet,” the band commented. “It is undoubtedly our proudest work to date.”
The single follows previous release ‘The Culture’ where The Perps pusedh back against a world they never asked for. The track gives voice to a generation disillusioned with modern life, offering a gritty yet melodic anthem for those who feel they were born in the wrong era. From the first note, ‘The Culture’ grabs hold and doesn’t let go, delivering youthful energy, smart songwriting, and an irresistible sense of longing – for something more, something real. It’s a raw, exuberant cry for authenticity in an age of artificial everything.
The Perps continue to carve out a distinct place in the modern rock landscape, fusing classic sensibilities with fresh perspective and fearless honesty.
Both singles are available via all major streaming platforms here and you can check out the videos here at RAMzine.
