The Plague kick off February with a bang, releasing a fierce new alternative metal single “Man Machine Or Beast.”
The nature of the track underlines the themes of inner turmoil as The Plague weaves elements of metal, metalcore, alternative metal, and hard rock with thrashing guitars set
“This song is about addiction and identity confusion,” explained The Plague. “The song is about how society with severe technology addiction creates unrealistic expectation combined with extreme relational distance.”

The Plague is the brainchild of producer/engineer David Adam Monroe, a pioneer of future punk. The Plague’s post-apocalyptic themes portray the struggles of being human, encouraging people to break free of the superficial and to know they are not alone.
Last September The Plague brought out rock single ‘Right Back Down‘. “This song is about a relationship that was very important to me that left with out ever saying what was wrong,” explained The Plague at the time. “Not only was it painful but totally unexpected. This song is about the frustration that they did not talked to me about what was going on and disbelief that they chose a cowards way out.”
That single is available here and you can also check out the video for it here at RAMzine.
It follows July’s single ‘Predator’ – Stalking fans like a tiger, the single’s brutal but thought provoking lyrics provide a wake up call to our darker side. Thrashing guitars, steady rhythms, and synthesisers combine to form a turbulent atmosphere illustrating the primal predatory urges of a hunter’s internal soundscape. The claim is there’s a predator is on the loose, and it’s not who we think it is.
“The world is dominated by a cultural emphasis on sex, to the point where predatory behaviours are normalised and encouraged, even by those who say they are indenting to protect the vulnerable,” explained The Plague. “This song is looking to confront and expose the internal impulses and hopefully stir up some honesty about the darker parts of humanity.”

Before that was April’s brutal and turbulent, ‘Headline’, a hardcore metal track full of defiance. An aggressive screaming vocal performance dominates over driving rhythms, gritty guitars, for an overall confrontational atmosphere The Plague holds nothing back.
“I was so sick of seeing legacy media straight up lie about the details of events just to fit a narrative that benefits political and financial agendas,” explained The Plague. “This song is venting and confronting those powerful voices in today’s culture. My goal would be to encourage people to think about the information they are receiving, thankfully I believe a good portion of the world already is.”
