The War on Drugs Announced for Rock Werchter 2026

The War on Drugs have been announced for Rock Werchter 2026, set to take the Main Stage on the festival’s opening night, Thursday 2 July.

The Philadelphia outfit will return to Belgium’s Festivalpark for what promises to be a special evening slot, performing as the sun sets behind the stage. It’ll mark the band’s third appearance at the festival.

Since breakthrough album Lost in the Dream landed in 2014, The War on Drugs have steadily cemented themselves as one of modern rock’s most compelling acts. That record saw Adam Granduciel and co. craft something genuinely special, blending widescreen Americana with hazy, atmospheric rock in a way that felt both familiar and fresh. Follow up A Deeper Understanding took home a Grammy in 2017, while I Don’t Live Here Anymore earned another nomination in 2021.

They join an already stacked lineup that includes The Cure, Gorillaz, Twenty One Pilots, Pixies, A Perfect Circle, The Prodigy, and Kasabian across the four day event.

Worth noting: Sunday tickets have already sold out, though day passes for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday remain available alongside full festival tickets. The Belgian government has also announced VAT increases on festival tickets from 6% to 12%, so current pricing won’t last forever.

Rock Werchter 2026 runs 2 to 5 July at Festivalpark Werchter, Belgium. Tickets available now at ticketmaster.be.
