Back in October Thin Lizzy had said that they were to form a new project, under a different name, and that’s just what they did.
The new project is made up of 4 former Thin Lizzy members Ricky Warwick (vocals), Scott Gorham (Guitar), Damon Johnson (Guitar), and Marco Mendoza (Bass). They will also be working with Jimmy DeGrasso (Drums), who has previously played in Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, and with Alice Cooper & David Lee Roth.
The new band are …. Black Star Riders.
Black Star Riders are to enter the studio this January to begin recording with Kevin Shirley who has worked with Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Rush. The album will feature songs written as Thin Lizzy were on the road.
Rick Warwick said:
“We are all very excited about the music that we have created for Black Star Riders. The synergy between the five of us has been phenomenal and I can’t wait for the world to hear these songs.”
Look out for a worldwide tour after the festival season of 2013!
