Halestorm vocalist is joined by Paul Rodgers, writer of the song, on background vocals and both electric and acoustic guitars.

“Joining a tribute album for Bad Company is more than covering songs; it’s adding a brushstroke to a masterpiece that’s been a part of our DNA for decades. To us it feels like stepping into a legacy built on grit and soul.  And it is our pleasure to honour Paul Rodgers the man who taught rock how to stand tall and sing truth, with the kind of voice that never lets time forget it. We wouldn’t be the rockers we are today without these boys,” said Hale.

“Lzzy vocally shook and rocked ‘Shooting Star’ into the stratosphere,” said Rogers himself. “Halestorm recorded the song at their studio in Nashville, sent me the track and I recorded my vocal ad libs plus acoustic and electric guitar parts at Matt Sorum’s Good Noise Studio in Palm Springs. However I did meet the band recently when they played in Canada and they were so respectful they touched my heart.”

If follows in the wake of what’s been described as a “beautiful reinvention of Bad Company’s ‘Seagull’ as a single, featuring Joe Elliott and Phil Collen of Def Leppard rising to the occassion and not only featurings Paul Rodgers but Simon Kirke too.

Bringing a powerful, emotionally charged edge to the classic, it features one of the UK’s biggest ever rock bands, and huge Bad Company fans,  alongside its two surviving original members.

“I’ve loved Bad Company since the very beginning,” said vocalist Joe Elliott. “A phenomenal combination of two of my favourite bands, Free and Mott The Hoople, what’s not to love!?  What a privilege it is for myself and Phil to cover one of my favourite Bad Co songs with Paul and Simon! Wow!”
