Jim Bob & Art

‘Art’ is the latest — and final — single from Jim Bob’s new album Stickthat currently sits at No. 3 in the UK Indie Chart and No. 17 in the Official Albums Chart at the time of writing. Its sibling album Automatic, released on the same day, is also flying high at No. 5 and No. 24 respectively.

Speaking about the single, Jim Bob said: ‘Art’ is a true story. About a day when I was feeling physically and emotionally exhausted and went into the National Gallery in London to look at some art, and in particular my favourite painting La Coiffure by Edgar Degas. Whether it was my emotionally fragile mood, my tiredness, the venue, the weather outside, the other people in the gallery, the colours of the paint, or all those things, as it says in the song, ‘I looked at that painting and I started crying.’ Art is a song about the inexplicable and magical power of art. Find the song on your phone, put your earphones in, go and look at the painting and see if it has the same effect on you.

Available now across all streaming platforms – Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and more – The single is accompanied by a new video created by celebrated multimedia artist HappyToast, who has worked on projects for bands, brands, and has his own cult following online, and who said: “As soon as I heard ‘Art’ I knew I had to do something. It conveys the power and importance of art so perfectly and honestly. Jim Bob gets it.
