I was a little bewildered to find out that there is just one track to review on what looks like an album, as the band have pulled out all the stops especially with the magnificent cover. The music is just a whirlwind of scathing flexing rhythms that hold superb melodies and fast unruly riffs. Casting a rather shadowy haze over the proceedings are the dark and unyielding vocals that juggle power with absolute drama and let you know about it in no uncertain terms. The melodic madness is very much welcomed and enjoyed with each and every note. Their aggressiveness knows no bounds and quickly captivates as it engages with guttural secretions that are monumental and suit the surrounding epic music to an absolute T. There is nothing quite like
There is nothing quite like melo-death for that feel of addictive pleasure because when it hits you, you just can’t stop listening. The blast beats kick you in the stomach with each unruly blast and the uplifting riffs twist and turn your world upside down. The band have laid down some caustic traits that act as bait for the ears and in no time have drawn you into their world without a backwards glance. The emotional disturbance, scalds and burns with rabid momentum and erodes with gripping imagination. It could be described as an Oasis in the Desert this track for it is hard to believe something could be so perpetually demanding and vehement. The harshness creates a malignancy throughout every pore in your body and never lets up for a second. It’s a haunting track with so much to give despite just being one track to review – it is definitely quality over quantity, however, I would like to hear more from Eshtadur – they come across as confident and knowing what direction they want to head in and deliver the goods magnificently.
The melodies are uplifting and challenging when they need to be and keep you well satisfied as the epic track plays out. So with a fantastic cover and one track that will blow your socks off – it is safe to say that Eshtadur are well on the way to certain stardom. It may have all been done before but the quality of this one track alone deserves to be recognised.
I cannot recommend it highly enough and definitely would love to hear more from this rowdy and persistently rewarding Colombian quintet! You Betcha!
Eshtadur Cornered at the Earth is out 10th February 2017.
