Alien Weaponry at Download Festival – Translating English to Māori and unlocking cultural poetics

Alien Weaponry, a metal band hailing from Waipu, New Zealand, was established in Auckland back in 2010. The lineup features Henry de Jong on drums, Lewis de Jong on guitar, and since August 2020, Tūranga Morgan-Edmonds handling the bass. Each member has Māori heritage and many of their tracks are composed and performed in the Māori language.
