Archers will release their debut album, I Was Here, I Can Prove It, on 26 February 2027 through Fearless Records. To mark the announcement, the band have shared a video for new single ‘Burning Low’.
Not many bands spend more than a decade on the road before releasing a debut album, but Archers aren’t most bands. The trio of vocalist Nathanael Pulley, guitarist Ben Koehler and bassist Grayson Mesarosh started out in Madison, Wisconsin with little more than a vision. They’ve worked their way up to become one of alternative rock’s most talked about names, winning fans one city at a time.
‘Burning Low’ is a riff fest topped off by Pulley‘s soulful vocals, with lyrics drawn from that decade of life on the road. “‘Burning Low’ is about the struggle of burning the candle from both ends and asks the question what happens when the ends finally meet,” the band explain.
The album pulls together everything they’ve lived through since they started. “I Was Here, I Can Prove It is a culmination of all the thoughts and feelings we’ve experienced over the last decade of touring,” say Archers. “The long days living on the road, being away from home and the constant self-doubt that make you question if it was all worth it. Ultimately realising that we wouldn’t trade this life for the world. This record serves to be our flag in the sand that announces to the world that we existed.”
Expect juggernaut riffs, huge breakdowns, soaring melodies and skittish electronics, along with themes of perseverance, loneliness and leaving your mark on the world. Pulley says it’s a record “for everyone who’s ever felt stuck, anyone who has ever felt lost.”
The tracklist is ‘Holding Pattern’, ‘The Dirt’, ‘Lying To Myself’, ‘Burning Low’, ‘All In My Head’, ‘Say So’, ‘Maneater’, ‘Get Paid’, ‘At The Bottom’, ‘I Want To Say I Lived’ and ‘Is This The End’.
We’ve been following Archers for a while, and it’s great to see them finally plant that flag. Ten years of graft and a title like I Was Here, I Can Prove It is the most honest debut we’ve heard about in a long time.
