Following an eight year absence, Arcane Roots are officially back. The alternative rock group just announced their biggest headline gig to date, taking over Here at Outernet in central London on November 11th, 2026. They bring Manchester heavyweights False Advertising and Leeds newcomers Love Rarely along for the ride.
Their return in January with the sprawling six minute epic ‘A Wave, Across The Sea’ proved they have not lost an ounce of their signature ambition. Now featuring returning founding member Daryl Atkins and Icelandic composer Bjarni Biering, the expanded lineup sounds absolutely massive. Seeing them evolve from the heavy early days of Left Fire and Blood & Chemistry into the cinematic heights of Melancholia Hymns has always been a privilege.
Anyone grabbing advance tickets receives an exclusive download of ‘A Wave, Across The Sea [Hands Of God]’, an extended cut completely absent from streaming platforms. This ties into their upcoming Bandcamp exclusive EP releasing on June 24th, which features three radically different alternative endings to the single.
Frontman Andrew Groves explains the track survived pandemics, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions during its inception in the North Atlantic. Elaborating on the concept, he states, “It is quite an outer-body experience to feel the ground moving beneath your feet, something that I feel would humble even the sturdiest of bipeds. It soon put into perspective just how futile our existence is against the forces it employs.”
Groves questions whether intense human division could physically impact the earth itself. “Thematically, this brought forward a concept. If we all felt something strongly enough, could we bring it into physical existence? If we all felt truly indifferent towards the ‘other’, could that somehow create some sort of physical impact?” Each of the new track endings explores a split in this narrative.
