ArcTanGent Festival has announced its first wave of artists for 2027, and it’s a big one. Neurosis and Blood Incantation, two of the festival’s most requested acts, will headline the main stage, and both are making their ArcTanGent debuts.
The festival is also on the move. For the first time in its history, ArcTanGent heads to a new home at Todenham Manor Farm near Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds. It runs from Thursday 19 to Saturday 21 August 2027, with early entry on Wednesday 18 August for 4-day ticket holders.
Oakland post-metal pioneers Neurosis headline on Saturday. They’re back playing live with Aaron Turner of Isis and Sumac on vocals, and they surprise-released their new album An Undying Love For A Burning World in March. Denver’s progressive death metal band Blood Incantation take the Thursday headline slot, following the release of All Gates Open, the soundtrack to their documentary film of the same name.
Organiser and booker James Scarlett said: “There’s no better way to kickstart the new chapter of ArcTanGent, for the first year at our new location in the Cotswolds, than with two of our most requested headliners. To have them along with Blood Incantation, a band it’s frankly criminal they haven’t played before, is the dream way to kick off a new edition of ArcTanGent.”
Further down the bill there’s a real curveball. The Wildhearts will play an exclusive, one-time-only progressive set. Ginger promises that “jaws will drop, minds will blow and joy will abound. This is going to be more fun than should be legal.”
Employed To Serve will celebrate ten years of The Warmth Of A Dying Sun, and French rockers Slift, German post-metal outfit The Ocean, Italian doom band Messa, ATG favourites Conjurer, Arizona’s Holy Fawn and Danish blackgaze band Møl are also confirmed. Psychonaut, Lowen, If These Trees Could Talk, Crown Lands, A Forest Of Stars, Urzah and many more complete the first announcement.
We think Neurosis and Blood Incantation are about as good a pair of headliners as ArcTanGent could have hoped for, and The Wildhearts doing a prog set is something we never expected to write. A new site, a new chapter, and plenty more names still to come.
Tickets are on sale now.
