Backslashes And Bad Ideas releases ‘Sad Is The New Black’ Lyric Video

For fans of Taking Back Sunday, The Dangerous Summer and Transit the band is not just another generic pop punk outfit. They are not typical, tired or processed. They are proudly separate from the rest of the herd. They started writing together inspired by a range of artists like scene veterans such as Taking Back Sunday and Brand New. The band’s unique sound and blend of pop punk, emo, and post-hardcore has drawn comparisons to The Dangerous Summer, The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, and Into It. Over It.

In June 2012, the band began recording their debut EP ‘Nothing Left To Give‘ with producer Joe Della’quila (Anthony Green, Good Old War) at Exeter Studios in NJ. After a successful self-release on August 4th, 2012, Backslashes And Bad Ideas received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback and support, as well as favorable reviews from a variety of outlets. After several months of constant performing and promotion to support the release, the band signed to Harbor Records and went right back into the writing process to prepare for their next release

Off a highly successfully tour with Get Stoked and features on Alternative Press and AbsolutePunk, Imminence Records’, Backslashes And Bad Ideas, have released the lyric video for ‘Sad Is The New Black‘. The title track to their upcoming 7’ (watch below). To be released September 9th on Giant MKT. I'm the beer drinking, metal screaming, photo taking, awkward interviewing guy that loves deathcore and anything heavy ever. Metal has been a huge influence on my life and will continue to be so. I get overly excited about meeting bands I listen to; probably something to do with a childhood dream.
