‘Cash Smash Boogie’ is the latest single from Swiss blues rocker Marc Amacher‘s new studio album Overdrive, due for release on 7th August via Hoboville.
Described as “swagger with dirt under its fingernails,” Amacher plays with the myth of money, balancing confidence and irony. It’s a groove-driven, stripped blues rock track with backing vocals as a subtle nod to classic rock’n’roll.

It follows in the wake of the album’s second single, ‘Rolling And Tumble’, described as raw blues rock, played straight from the moment and driven by an unstoppable groove.
The song thrives on an uncompromising, almost physical soundscape. Guitars, rhythm and vocals interlock like a running engine. The lyrics explore identity in a state of flux, the act of pressing on despite obstacles, and the principle of never truly standing still.
Visually, too, this attitude is consistently explored in its video: street-sign aesthetics, fragmented depictions of figures and superimposed lyrics form the image of a character who is constantly moving between places, thoughts and states. Not a classic blues song as such, but a contemporary rock track about movement as a principle of life.
Hardly any Swiss blues musician lives the blues as uncompromisingly as Marc Amacher. He has been on the road for over two decades, and became known to a wider audience through The Voice Of Germany, where he reached the final.
