Now signed with Metalville Records, Division: Dark have a new single out, ‘Caught In The Loop’, taken from their new studio album The Eternal Baptism, due for release on 2nd October.
Said to present their “most ambitious work to date”, The Eternal Baptism builds on the dystopian mythology of the anonymous collective that is Division: Dark. Following their debut album Prophecy, they have opened a new chapter, blending modern industrial metal, electronic soundscapes and a cinematic atmosphere into an intense concept album.
The Eternal Baptism concerns the idea of a spiritual rebirth of humanity. A futuristic lore of twelve tracks telling of a world in which emotions, creativity and individuality have been supplanted by technological perfection. The baptism of the album’s title symbolises a return to the lost human frequency, a journey through hope, despair, resistance and redemption.
The identities of those behind Division: Dark remain hidden. Rather than individual personalities, the focus is on their vision: they are an artistic collective that uses music to tell stories, pose questions and invite listeners to become part of a larger narrative.
Intended to blur the boundaries between metal, industrial, cinematic sound and science fiction lore, The Eternal Baptism will feature the tracks: ‘Let Me Show You My World’, ‘Face The Liar’, ‘Beautify Me’, ‘The Curse’, ‘Black Dominion’, ‘Break Down’, ‘Within This Fake’, ‘Afterlife’, ‘Caught In The Loop’, ‘Field Of Midnight’, ‘Eve’ and ‘Burn The Timeline’.
A few small fixes worth flagging: I swapped the dash before “a journey” for a comma, added the missing opening quote on ‘Afterlife’, restored the full title The Eternal Baptism in the track-list line (it read “Eternal Baptism”), and tidied “invite its listeners” to “invite listeners” so it agrees with “they are”. The twelve tracks listed do match the stated twelve, so that checks out.
