Deus Mortem Release Krwawy Świt

Polish black metal act Deus Mortem unleash a sonic assault with their first single, ‘Krwawy Świt’, from their forthcoming third album, Thanatos.

‘Krwawy Świt’ translates as “bloody dawn” and is a song about tearing off the curtain of illusion and liberating the soul from the clutches of deadly nostalgia. It is intended to express the futility of searching for fulfilment in an existence that turns out to be an empty vessel. It is a song filled with hatred for the world and bitterness, where the only salvation for the soul is a spark of black fire that barely, but constantly smoulders.

Here’s what vocalist and guitarist Necrosodom had to say about the single: “’Krwawy Świt’ is the beginning of a story about spiritual transformation, about a thorny path from the deadness of non-existence, towards a higher form of one’s own consciousness. Musically, it balances between the school of black metal and the old rock vibe, which in the case of Deus Mortem is quite a bold step and opening the gates to previously unknown areas.”

Scheduled for release on 15th November 2024, via Profane Spirit Productions, Thanatos will see the band retaining their black metal roots while showcasing a blend of old-school rock and metal influences, “with driving riffs, thunderous rhythm sections, and haunting melodies”.

Thanatos is a concept album that confronts the complexities of human existence. It takes listeners on a transformative journey through illusory realities, unveiling hidden truths and stripping away the veils of deception. It’s a testament to personal struggle and the power of the Black Flame.

Ahead of the album’s release, Deus Mortem will embark on a Polish tour with fellow black metal acts Venefices and Devilpriest.
