DiAmorte are looking to redefine the genre of symphonic metal with the release of The Red Opera on Dark Star Records.
The music is unapologetically theatrical, cinematic, and grandiose, painting its stories not only through the lyrics but the music as well – A record that harkens back to the rock operas of old.
Taking over four years to complete, DiAmorte broke down the genre to its core, focussed on symphonic arrangements, using modern instrumentation as support – With guest appearances from Symphony X’s Michael Romeo and Mike Lepond X plus Markus Johansson from THEM.
The band itself features four vocalists: the operatic ones of Armenia Sarkissian, Alina Gavrilenko and Giampaul Andrianopoulos, and the guttural rock overtones of Drake Mafessta.
The Red Opera itself tell how two fallen kingdoms in a dying land are locked in an eternal conflict known as The Great Divide. On the horizon looms a dark, insidious force that influences and corrupts the powerful, accursed lord and through him, seeks to destroy all humanity and life, including his beloved human shield maiden; that new life may begin again.
