Endless Spite Event This Christmas in Bradford

The first ever Endless Spite event in Shipley, Bradford will take place on Saturday 7th December.

It is collaboration between Endless Hum and the legendary Out of Spite collective; renowned for hosting some of the most iconic and memorable punk/hardcore shows across Leeds and Bradford for over 20 years.

Nine bands will be staggered across two rooms, in the refurbished and recently re-opened Kirkgate Centre in Shipley, Bradford. There will also be live projections, merchandise, craft ale on tap, food vendors, record stalls and more to be announced soon.

The line-up for Endless Spite is as follows.

Obey Cobra: Cardiff’s best noise exports now signed to the Rocket Recordings label, their latest LP Mwg Drwg released earlier this year. Merging elements of krautrock, psychedelia, shoegaze and electronics together they are said to form a formidable live show only visible through a thick layer of feedback. The organisers noted: “They’ve always been a highlight for us and finally, they return to Shipley”.

Cowtown: One of the longest running bands to come out of Leeds infamous DIY LS6 area, crafting their off-kilter, garage-punk for what must be nearly two decades. With four albums under their belts at home on the likes of Gringo Records and Domino Records as well as a plethora of long out of print early releases, Cowtown’s back catalogue is extensive but well crafted.

The Sex Maniacs: Returning to play their second gig in roughly 20 years and featuring members of noteworthy legends of the Leeds punk scene. They released one album on Eccentric Man Records back in 2003 titled Mean As Hell.

Weekend Faithful: From Newcastle and playing their first ever gig in Yorkshire, the band play anthem-filled, function room rock that your dad would probably love.

Machiavellian Art: A maximalist blowout of sax-honking noise rock, doom metal, hardcore punk, and shoegaze, with industrial noise, howling vocals, paranoid rambles, and pure disdain for oneself and the rest of you layered on top. Indoctrination Sounds was released last year through Riot Season Records.

Ox Scapula: Formed in 2006 and once regulars on the Leeds DIY scene, previous releases were through Gringo Records, Audacious Art Experiment and Sea Owl. Expect frantic stroppy guitars, heavy grooving bass, twisted grooves and ambient droning.

Tiger Island: Power-pop loving garage punk rock fuelled by massive riffs, pounding drums and tunes you can actually dance to.

Cellar Messiah: Bradford/Leeds based newcomer’s blending elements of psych, shoegaze and krautrock to throb the soul.

The Breedling: The brain child of Chris Spalton, they take a DIY approach and attitude to the way sounds are manipulated. Spalton’s latest album on Wrong Speed Records takes primal noise music and mixes it with qualities of doom, drone and electronica.

Tickets are available via this link and are sent by email upon purchase, based on a first come, first served basis. All names will be checked on the door, the night of the event. Please bring proof of purchase (mobile accepted). Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled. While timings will be announced closer to the date of the event, the event will start from 3pm and end around 11pm in time for those reliant on public transport.

Shipley train station is located only 5 minutes walk away and the last train leaves for Leeds at 11:15pm. There’s also a taxi rank just around the corner on Kirkgate Road, Kirkgate Centre, Shipley, Bradford, BD18 3EH.

An 18+ gig, those younger may also attend under the supervision of a parental guardian and at the discretion of the venue. No alcohol will be served to anyone under the legal drinking age.
