Guitar legend Robin Trower will play an exclusive UK concert at the Islington Assembly Hall in London on Tuesday 27th February. It promises to be a masterclass in electrifying six string pyrotechnics, and from a man now aged 72.
The former Procul Harem guitarist found solo fame with a string of hit albums in the 70s while playing arena gigs in the USA, merging heavy rock with emotional soul. In his time he’s also played alongside the likes of Cream’s Jack Bruce and Roxy Music’s Bryan Ferry, but in more recent years has released a series of blues and blues rock albums, last year’s Time and Emotion being the most recent. Commenting on that record he said: “I can honestly say I don’t know when I have been happier with an album. I feel Time and Emotion contains some of my very best work.”
Trower will be supported by the Sari Schorr Trio, this very special act sees New York based blues vocalist Schorr alongside guitarist Ash Wilson and keyboardist Bob Fridzema, formerly of King King and more recently seen playing live with Joanne Shaw Taylor.
Tickets for Robin Trower’s only UK show can be booked from the 24 HR Box Office: 08444 780 898, the www.thegigcartel.com or direct from the Islington Assembly Hall.
