Gabanizza & Christie Don’t Want To Live Without You

Award-winning Italian singer-songwriter Lorenzo Gabanizza has teamed up with multi-platinum artist Jeff Christie for the second time, with the powerful and emotive single ‘I Don’t Want To Live Without You’.

The single is the latest in an impressive body of work from Gabanizza that ranges from indie to Celtic rock. To date, the artist has over 1m streams on Spotify, started a fundraising program to fight AIDS that was recognised by the Mercury Phoenix Trust (founded after Freddie Mercury’s death), performed in front of 12,000 at Celtica, and produced a music video that was featured across The Toronto Alternative Film Festival, the Munich Music Video awards, and International Music Awards, and Malabar Film Festival. Oh, and he won the Red Carpet and The David Bowers awards for his work as an author.

Jeff Christie was vocalist and bass player with Christie, who had international hits such as ‘Yellow River’, and has continued a fruitful musical career since the 70s.

The new single follows on from the pair’s previous collaborative single ‘I Guess I Am the Only One’ that currently has over 625,000 streams on Spotify alone.

‘I Don’t Want To Live Without You’ takes inspiration from the worlds of country and classic rock. A bleeding-heart ballad, the single’s acoustic guitar carries audiences through swells of moving vocals, and string and wind instruments. The two artists trade vulnerable, powerful vocal lines building to the song’s climactic classic rock end that turns its tender titular line into an anthem.

The accompanying video brings a visual component to the storytelling. Starring both of them, the video follows Gabanizza and the memory of his dead partner, as he musters the strength to visit her grave. Poignant and reflective, the video gives a new dimension to the song as a bittersweet memorial to a love now passed. Is on-screen partner is played acclaimed Italian actor Martina Sacchetti who has made a name for herself for her work on stage and across short films. The music video was directed by Oscar Serio, an official jury member for the Sanremo Rock music festival and well-known filmmaker himself.

‘I Don’t Want To Live Without You’ was written and composed by Lorenzo Gabanizza with performances from Jeff Christie, Kev Moore, Paul Fenton, Hale White, Patrick Lyon, Richard Curran, John Heinrich, Mike Casteel, Catherine Ashcroft, Tanner Bayles, and the Fortunate Gospel Choir.

The single was mixed by Stefano Bedini and Corey Moore, and mastered by Grammy-winners Grey Calbi (known for his work with Bob Dylan, David Bowie, and John Lennon) and Steve Fallone (Lady Gaga, Tony Bennet) at Sterling Sound, NJ, USA.
