Karnivool returns with their latest track, ‘Drone.’ The song opens with an unsettling and eerie soundscape, featuring a tense arpeggiated guitar line that evokes feelings of suspense and discomfort. This introduction creates a cinematic and ominous atmosphere. As the piece transitions into its main riff, it unleashes a groove that is both heavy and rhythmically intricate.
Lyrically, it delivers a powerful indictment of apathy, societal conformity, and the deliberate ignorance that leads to disaster. Utilising the metaphor of a “drone”—representing both mindless followers and an incessant monotony—the song delves into themes of dehumanisation and looming catastrophe.
“Drone’ is the sound of Karnivool entering a new era — a slow-cooked journey forged in the studio’s heat, where every note was tested and tempered. This track hums with the weight of vast Western Australian deserts, anchored by colossal rock riffs that could only come from our home. It’s both a reflection and a rebirth,” says Karnivool.
New music is on the horizon, and we can’t wait to hear more! More will be revealed soon. Listen to ‘Drone’ here on RAMzine:
