Italian metal icons Lacuna Coil are marking 20 years of Karmacode with a double single. It pairs ‘Fragile XX’, a reworked version of the Karmacode favourite, with a remix of ‘I Wish You Were Dead’ by SWARM, taken from last year’s Sleepless Empire.
“‘Fragile’ has always been a live favourite. It was actually one of the very first songs we debuted on stage even before Karmacode was released 20 years ago,” says vocalist Andrea Ferro. “While reworking a much loved song can initially feel unsettling, in particular for Maki, our main songwriter, we faced the process as a tribute to ‘Fragile’ and Karmacode. ‘Fragile XX’ feels and sounds like Lacuna Coil in 2026, and we look forward to performing it live for the next 20 years!”
SWARM, a long-time fan, was honoured to be asked. “I never remix for the sake of remix,” he says. “I want to respect the original while tastefully, and aggressively, turning it upside down and shaking something absolutely crazy out.”
‘Fragile XX’ comes with an official lyric video. Cristina Scabbia, Ferro and co. return to the road in February and March 2027, supporting The Halo Effect on an extensive European tour.
