Masterplan Return with Metalmorphosis

Among the most enduring and influential names in German power metal, Masterplan return with a new studio album, Metalmorphosis, due 26th June via Frontiers Music Srl. A European tour beginning in April and a new single and accompanying video in ‘Chase The Light’ are also out right now.

Guitarist Roland Grapow, who founded the band along with drummer Uli Kusch following their exit from Helloween, described the new single as: “a dark and aggressive track about fear, control, and a world that feeds on pain. It shows how power rises while compassion fades, trapping people in silence and despair. The song pushes through chaos and suffering toward release, a call to break free, heal old wounds, and reclaim your strength.”

Regarding their first album since 2013’s Novum Initium, he said: “Metalmorphosis really captures what this album means to us: a transformation, but still true to the spirit of Masterplan. We’ve grown over the years, both as musicians and as people, and you can hear that in the new songs. Some ideas go back many years, and now they’ve finally come to life. It’s powerful, melodic, and emotional, classic Masterplan, but with a new energy.”

Since their 2003 self-titled debut, Masterplan have earned international recognition, toured extensively across Europe and beyond, and received industry accolades. After a prolonged hiatus from studio releases, the band have reemerged with renewed creative drive, signing a new worldwide deal with Frontiers Music Srl in the process.

Metalmorphosis features the tracks: ‘Chase The Light’, ‘Electric Nights’, ‘Shadow Man’, ‘Bound To Fall’, ‘Pain Of Yesterday’, ‘Metalmorphosis’, ‘Through The Storm’, ‘Ghostlight’, ‘The Call’ and ‘Rise Again (Album Version)’.
