Metallica Announce Las Vegas Sphere Residency for October 2026

Metallica have finally put the rumour mill to rest. The biggest metal band on the planet is heading to The Sphere in Las Vegas this October for an eight show residency dubbed “Life Burns Faster,” making them the first metal band to ever play the $2.3 billion venue.

The residency spans four weekends across October, with shows every Thursday and Saturday: October 1 and 3, 15 and 17, 22 and 24, and 29 and 31. True to the No Repeat Weekend format they pioneered on the M72 World Tour, no two shows on a given weekend will share the same setlist.

The Sphere is no ordinary venue. We’re talking about the world’s highest resolution LED display wrapping up, over and around the audience, immersive sound delivering crystal clear audio to every single seat, and multi sensory 4D technology. Imagine Master of Puppets hitting you from every direction while visuals engulf the entire space around you. It is genuinely hard to picture what Metallica could do with that kind of technology at their disposal, but the possibilities are staggering.

Drummer Lars Ulrich was predictably buzzing about the announcement, saying he knew they had to play The Sphere roughly twelve seconds into watching U2‘s opening night back in 2023. He called it “completely uncharted territory” and admitted the band is “way fuckin’ psyched to go next level.” You can feel the excitement!

This would be the coolest thing to witness. A once in a lifetime type event that feels genuinely unmissable. Flights and accommodation from the UK aren’t actually too bad if you plan ahead, though you will need some spare cash set aside for the trip itself. But for Metallica at The Sphere? That feels worth every penny.

Tickets go on general sale March 6 at 10am PT via Ticketmaster, with various presales running beforehand including fan club access from March 2. Visit metallica.com for full details. The final show falls on Halloween night, which feels like it was made for Metallica.
