Irish guitarist and composer Mó Sheerin, widely celebrated for her work with the progressive metal band Nebularis, has unveiled her debut solo single, ‘Strings Attached’.
Marking a departure from her progressive metal roots, Sheerin’s latest endeavour showcases her versatility as she explores the depths of acoustic storytelling in a captivating ballad that proves to be a deeply emotive composition, weaving captivating acoustic guitar melodies with raw, heartfelt lyrics that resonate on an intimate level.
Originally from County Fermanagh, Sheerin has been based in County Dublin for the last eight years. Involved in the local rock/blues/metal scene for a long time, providing her guitar and synthesiser compositions to both Irish metal band like Witchkicker and sci-fi/cinematic metal band Nebůlaris, where her technical skill and powerful stage presence have made her a standout figure in the Irish music scene. ‘Strings Attached” reveals a new, introspective side of her artistry.
Not only marking a milestone for Mó Sheerin as her first solo project, ‘Strings Attached’ also highlights her ability to convey profound emotion through simplicity. The song’s timeless feel and gentle, acoustic textures make it an ideal accompaniment for quiet, reflective moments, while carrying an unmistakable power.
Her solo endeavours with her upcoming solo album, The Tangled Woods, brings audiences down a long and winding path to a deeper, mysterious and acoustic guitar-dominated style of songs – With inspirations drawn from the Pat Metheny Group, Joni Mitchell and Bonnie Raitt, to bring forth a delicate, eclectic style of progressions in her songwriting.
