Some of the biggest names in rock have been announced for Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Norwich, including headliners Foo Fighters, Muse and Fall Out Boy.
This following the news Foo Fighters will also be headlining Glastonbury and touring the UK. Other acts announced for the weekend include Mallory Knox, Lower Than Atlantis, The Vaccines and 5 Seconds Of Summer,
The event takes place on May 24th and 25th in Norwich.
Foo Fighters front man, Dave Grohl, had this to say:
I’m really excited – I can’t wait to come out. I don’t really think we’ve ever played there before so I’m looking forward to it.”
Foo Fighters have previously headlined the Big Weekend at Sunderland in 2005 and Carlisle in 2009.
Muse are also headlining Download Festival. Vocalist and guitarist Matt Bellamy had this to say:
I’m really looking forward to coming back and doing a great show. I’m pretty sure that we may unveil another new song that we will play for the first time, which is pretty exciting.”
50,000 free tickets for Radio 1’s Big Weekend were snapped up last month in just 40 minutes, with the majority of the passes going to residents in the surrounding area.
