Californian 3 piece NICO VEGA are set to release a new album titled, “Lead To Light” this coming September! The band support the release by playing Reading and Leeds festival and supporting Imagine Dragon in Germany this August!
After releasing their debut album, “Nico Vega” independently in 2009; three songs produced by Linda Perry (Pink, Gwen Stefani) and mixed by Thcad Blake (The Black Keys, Sheryl Crow). The upcoming album will be released through their new label Five Seven Music. The lyrically vibrant, melody driven album may feel for some hardcore Nico Vega devotees like a departure from the gritty, visceral, rock – centred nature of their debut”, but fear not, dance towards the light. The trio has always shot from the hip, resulting in a rawness that’s impossible to put in a box and is nearly transcendent in its live form. “Lead to Light” builds from that same rebel spirit, raising the stakes with heart – centred alternative pop ballad/jams that still carry the torch of their beloved underdog.
Lead to Light marks the evolution of Nico Vega from intuitive songwriters towards crafted and relevant collaborator/producers. Earlier in the year, their anthem song “Beast” charted its way, beyond its cult-like following, into mainstream audiences with multiple syncs in advertisements for Vampire Academy, BioShock Infinite, Ketel One, Jack Reacher, and Pacific Rim. The bands cover of “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” was featured on Britain’s Got Talent in May 2014.
The band are accomplished live performers, having played with the likes of Neon Trees, Manic Street Preachers, Blondie, Imagine Dragons. Metric and No Doubt. Nico Vega are set to tour the UK and Germany in August 2014. The band support Imagine Dragons (the band of Aja’s husband Dan Reynolds).
