World-renowned groove metal band Lamb of God have been signed to Nuclear Blast Entertainment, and have announced a July 2015 release for their seventh album, ‘VII: Sturm Und Drang’.
Drummer Chris Adler says, “We first met [Nuclear Blast] back in 1997 – and almost signed then, but have been flirting ever since. It’s now time for a new chapter for us connecting with our friends and fans overseas, which is long overdue!”
Nuclear Blast founder Markus Staiger says “I’ve always been a big fan of their music and we now get to work with them on their new crushing album.”
The Grammy-nominated band has been through a well documented and turbulent few years, following frontman Randy Blythe’s incarceration following a manslaughter charge in Prague, in which he was found not guilty.
The new album is being produced by Josh Wilbur and recorded in California’s NRG Recording Studios and Suburban Soul Studios.
The album can be preordered from http://nblast.de/LambOfGod
The band recently launched www.lambofgodvii.com, on which they have been revealing video interviews with fans from around the world.
The first single from the upcoming album, ‘Still Echoes’, is now streaming on the website, and will be available to buy on May 18th,
Frontman Randy Blythe states, “The time has come to give the fans their first taste of the new Lamb of God album. This is a very, very dark, yet sonically highly varied record.”
Randy, an avid photographer in his spare time, has an exhibition of some of his work at the Sacred Gallery in New York up to June 20th, as well as his autobiography ‘Dark Days: A Memoir’ to be released on July 14th.
Lamb of God are booked to play at Download Festival on June 18th, as well as a summer tour of the US with Slipknot.
