The latest two-track EP by lo-fi ambient post-rockers Picture Ann is a concise musical meditation on displacement, transition, and the notion of longing for something that appears permanently out of reach and unattainable to us. As we all know, what is sought often has multiple dimensions and layers to it, and the searcher can ultimately turn into the searched, which is essentially what ‘Nordnes’ and ‘All Noble Things Are Melancholy’ refer to and revolve around. Why do we occasionally strive to escape the confining walls of the narratives that we have woven ourselves into?
