To Shoot Another Day is the new studio album from the critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Rosalie Cunningham, due 1st November from Esoteric Antenna records.
Following the success of her previous album, Two Piece Puzzle, Cunningham is said to continue to push the boundaries of her creative vision, “delivering a rich and diverse collection of songs that showcase her evolution as one of Britain’s most original and gifted talents”.
To Shoot Another Day features ten stunning tracks (plus 2 CD-exclusive bonus tracks), each one described as a testament to her exceptional ability to craft evocative moods and intricate musical landscapes. Fans of her work with the iconic band Purson, as well as her solo efforts, will find much to love in this new release, that combines the theatricality of ‘60s and ‘70s rock with the singer’s unique contemporary flair.
Since the start of her solo career in 2018, the award-winning Cunningham has firmly established herself as an artist of depth and versatility. Her debut album in 2019 was met with critical acclaim, and with each subsequent release, she has continued to solidify her status as an interesting and unique figure in the contemporary music scene.
Commenting on her recordings thus far, Cunningham remarked: “Each album I make takes an unhinged amount of dedication. Blood, sweat, tears, egomaniacal highs and existential lows. Perhaps this one tops them all in this sense as it’s my first album to have been recorded and mixed, start to finish, at my home studio. The hours spent are unquantifiable! But, thanks to a hell of a lot of trial and error and the perpetual patience of my partner Rosco, I am immensely proud of this piece of work.”
To Shoot Another Day builds on the psychedelic roots and progressive sensibilities that have always been at the heart of her music, while also exploring new sonic territories. The album’s eclectic soundscape ranges from saccharine pop to smooth lounge jazz, all the way to fuzzy heavy metal, ensuring that there is something for every listener. This is not intended as just an album; but the journey through the mind of an artist who continues to grow and evolve.
The release of To Shoot Another Day is accompanied by a major UK and European tour, set to take place in November 2024. Fans can expect powerful live performances that bring the album’s vivid and diverse sound to life.
