American alternative rock band Semisonic have announced their debut album, Feeling Strangely Fine, is to have a 20th-anniversary deluxe reissue edition, available from October 19th via UMe.
The reissue will be on CD and digital, as well as having a limited edition release on gold vinyl, making this the first occasion a Semisonic album has been released on vinyl. The deluxe edition will also include B-sides from singles previously released on international CD singles which came out at the time of the album.
Singer-guitarist Dan Wilson says “we definitely weren’t thinking these songs would still be being played on the radio twenty years after I first started writing the songs which would become ‘Feeling Strangely Fine.’”
The album is available for pre-order through PledgeMusic which will come with the added bonus of ‘unique premiums,’ in the form of lessons with bassist John Munson and drummer Jake Slichter. As well as this, it will also include the original master tape of the opening track, ‘Closing Time’, as a taster for the reissued album, the band have now shared a previously unreleased demo of the track which will give fans an insight into how the Grammy-nominated song evolved into its final form.
