Rising metal band Spiritbox have just released a brand new acousitic re-working of thei stunning track ‘Constance’.
This version was recorded in a church with a string trio earlier this year as part of The Grammy Museum COLLECTION:live #spotlightsaturdays in partnership with BMG. Listen to the new version of the track below:
This will be release as a 7″ vinyl picturedisc with the original version of the track. The blue butterfly is a reference to the jumper vocalist Courtney LaPlante wears in the video for ‘Constance’ which was released December 2020 (see below).
Guitarist Mike Stringer had this to say about the acousitc re-working of the track:
“This live version of Constance was a very ambitious project for us. Before we left to start recording Eternal Blue, I had a rough demo of an acoustic version of Constance written. While we were tracking the album, the Grammy Museum asked us if we’d want to contribute to their “Collection:Live” series with a live acoustic/stringed composition of the song.Of course this was a huge honour for us and something we couldn’t turn down, but it posed a challenge as we were recording in the middle of the desert, and I had never written a string composition before.”
‘Constance’, as well as other tracks such as ‘Holy Roller’, ‘Secret Garden’, and ‘Circle With Me’ will be on the band’s debut album Eternal Blue, which is set to be released September 17th 2021. This is avialable to pre-order here.
