Flying in the face of disposable music and keeping the roots of rock music alive, the award-winning Starlite Campbell Band has released a third album in Starlite Campbell Band Live.
Husband and wife Suzy Starlite and Simon Campbell are passionate about the music as well as each other and have been on a roller-coaster musical ride following the worldwide success of their first two albums Blueberry Pie and The Language Of Curiosity.
No two gigs are the same with the band, not least as they take on improvisational free-form jamming, as will be evidenced on playing the album that was recorded over a series of dates in the UK at The Met, Bury and The Grange Theatre, Oldham.
The album features Steve Gibson on drums (The Buzzcocks, Jack Bruce) and a trio of outstanding organists in Jonny Henderson (Matt Schofield, Kirk Fletcher) and Christian Madden (The Liam Gallagher Band) on Hammond organ and Wurlitzer electric piano, and Procul Harum keyboard player Josh Phillips – The Starlite Campbell Band having also released a cover of the classic ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale – Live’ as their latest single.
You can check out the band’s video for their single right here at RAMzine, and the new album is available to buy on limited edition CD and digitally, direct from the band’s online shop with worldwide shipping by clicking here.
Suzy Starlite can also be found featured as this month’s Wonder Woman in the USA’s No Treble magazine, the second largest bass magazine in the world.
The interview takes the form of both a written article, that can be read online here and an hour-long video interview wherein she chats to journalist and bassist Brittany Frompovich about recording studios, motorcycles, song-writing, falling in love with the bass, adventures with The Starlite Campbell Band, the art of songwriting, what is important in life and other inspirational stories.
