Oh Cherry… The Answer

Currently on tour, Northern Irish rockers The Answer continue their full-frontal comeback assault with the release of ‘Oh Cherry‘, from their new album Sundowners, that came out on St. Patrick’s Day, through Golden Robot Records and 7Hz.

After seven years away from the music scene, The Answer made a storming comeback show at this year’s Planet Rock Festival, sold out dates on their UK tour, and been releasing a number of well-received singles from the new album, produced and mixed by rising British rock producer Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, Bury Tomorrow)

You can check out the video to the latest, ‘Oh Cherry‘, here at RAMzine.

The second full media single from Sundowners was ‘Livin’ On The Line’, described as a thumping foot stomper of a track. You can verify that by also checking out the accompanying video right here at RAMzine – It was shot in Paris, and directed by Jonny Finnis from JF Film.“We had a blast recording and making the video for this ‘Livin’ On The Line’, said lead vocalist Cormac Neeson. “The song harks back to our days on the road when everything we was an incessant dash from show to show, market to market all living on the edge, fuelled by alcohol and rock ‘n’ roll!

“The song is about getting through one of those days when you know that just making it out the other side in once piece is achievement enough. It’s been great to make a fresh return after seven years and we’ve got that hunger and desire back to get out in front of our fans with what we think is some of our best music ever!”

The band’s first single release from Sundowners was ‘Blood Brother’ and received international radio airplay notably in the UK and Germany. A second digital track, ‘Want You To Love Me’ was released earlier this month and showcases the band with a driving, grungy and raw sound, in keeping with the new direction of the album.

Neeson said: “When a friend asks me to give them a sneak peak of what this new album of ours sounds like… The first song I play them is ‘Want You To Love Me’. I just sit back and watch their heads start to bob up and down. This song is what we’re all about right now… Dirty blues rock that hopefully makes you feel pretty damn good! The video captures the uncompromising energy of the song perfectly. I watched it ten times when it came through to my inbox. It looks even better with a whisky in your hand too. Watch responsibly.”

You can also check out that single yourself here at RAMzine.

The album itself was released by Golden Robot Records Pty and by licensee 7Hz Productions (ADA) in the UK & Europe on 17th March 2023.  It will come in several formats including a Cd gatefold digi sleeve, gatefold 12” 180g black vinyl, 2 x 12” colour vinyl exclusives, a 12” fan collectible picture disc, digital and various limited retail exclusive versions with HMV, Rough Trade, Crash and Assai Records.
