Canadian darkwave heroes The Birthday Massacre have revealed details on their 7th studio album – Under Your Spell.
The album will be released on May 9th. Below is the first track taken from Under Your Spell entitled ‘Counterpane’.
The artwork carries on the ‘violet’ theme that all releases by The Birthday Massacre have had. The band have recently commented on this saying; “Violet is the colour of the tragic comedy. We associate it with fantasy and melancholy. These themes make up much of the band’s lyrical inspiration. The colour also mirrors our sound dynamic. Our music mixes contrasting elements. In turn, violet is the sum of two contrasting colours: Red and Blue.”
