On Friday 25th March, The Rolling Stones will perform a groundbreaking concert in Havana, Cuba. The free concert will take place at the Ciudad Deportiva de la Habana and will be the first open air concert in the country by a British rock band.
The once in a lifetime concert follows the band’s America Latina Ole tour. The ‘Stones are also leading a musician to musician initiative where much needed instruments and equipment are being donated by major suppliers for the benefit of Cuban musicians from all genres. Donors include The Gibson Foundation, Vic Firth, RS Berkeley, Pearl, Zildjian, Gretsch, Latin Percussion, Roland and BOSS with additional assistance from the Latin GRAMMY Cultural foundation.
The Stones commented:
“We have performed in many special places during our long career but this show in Havana is going to be a landmark event for us!”
This historical concert will certainly have Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood wowing the crowds and delivering the whole Rolling Stones experience from classic tracks to their newer material.
Following the concert, The ‘Stones will then be flying to London to open their first ever exhibition in London ‘Exhibitionism’ at the Saatchi Gallery on April 4th.
