The Used are in celebration of fifteen years together, are doing what they do best by bringing their show to the World. A North American and European tour is beginning this spring with the plan of doing two shows per city with their Self-Titled debut album, ‘The Used‘ and ‘In Love and Death’ being played in full and then some. England will see them visit with double night shows in both London and Leeds.
Along with the celebration tour, The Used have also announced the release of a special live CD/DVD set for release on April 1st. The performance taken from their unplugged show at The Palace Theater, in Los Angeles last month. The one time show had the band play an intimate, unplugged set, with 4-piece string quartet and harpist (arranged by Hiro Goto), pianist, percussion and a 3-piece gospel choir. The entire show captured for CD/DVD to be treasured by those fans that could not make it. Pre-order for ‘Live and Acoustic at The Palace‘ are available here: www.TheUsed.net
Vocalist Ben McCracken spoke of the upcoming release: “I think we really captured the night perfectly and listening back to the mixes it reminded me how music can allow us to be children once again and once you open yourself up to that emotion it’s like a virus, it’s contagious.” He continued, “Nearly every eye in the venue was weepy when we played with the orchestra because these songs are so emotional and this recording is a truly special thing that I can’t wait for everyone to hear. It still gives me goose bumps.”
Fifteen years ago saw four teenagers get together and explode onto the alternative scene with shows full of energy, lyrics that stuck in minds, and the music that crossed the spectrum of inspirations to cement an everlasting fan base. With 6 releases and 2 EPs, the band have gone from strength to strength, with latest EP ‘Imaginary Enemy’ getting as high as ever across multiple charts.
