In a time when the music industry needs all the positive expertise it can get, 3nation joins the ranks of public relations specialists for music artists and businesses.
The business’ differentiation is that 3nation has expert knowledge across multiple nations and cultures, namely the United Kingdom, Poland and Cyprus — with its founder, Dominic Athanassiou, fluent in three languages (English, Polish and Greek).
3nation offers tailored music PR services for music artists and record labels globally, as well as B2B PR services for music businesses and technology companies to deliver each client’s message and products to the right audience. 3nation also offers standalone copywriting and translation services.
3nation’s current clients and projects include: the iconic Polish metal record label, Pagan Records, working on upcoming releases from its artist roster; avant-garde and experimental music record label Devoted Art Propaganda and its upcoming release (the soundtrack to the theatrical play Nuhikun – Directions to Servants by renowned Japanese composer, J.A. Seazer); Greek black metal veterans Necromantia and the band’s farewell album To the Depths We Descend…; and UK synthwave artist Network Nick with his second full-length album Johnny Synths.
The name 3nation and the business’ modus operandi stems from the background of its founder, Dominic Athanassiou, being half-Polish, half-Cypriot living in the UK, and having developed close media and business relationships in those three geographical locations and language markets over the years.
Athanassiou has a diverse background and a wide network in the global music and tech industries. He self-started his professional career by embracing the “digital revolution” and in 2011 launched a music review website, Metal Recusants, an international journalistic platform with a reach of over 5,000 unique visitors per month and contributors from Europe and the Americas. At the same time, he has also worked as a freelance music publicist for artists and record labels, with a focus on promoting the Polish metal scene.
Most recently, he worked in PR agencies in both music and B2B tech as well as in-house in a financial services company. He worked across trade and consumer projects for clients in areas such as digital & physical distribution, streaming, royalty collection, trade associations, digital rights, AI, rights management, secondary ticketing, tech products, digital marketing, CRM, SaaS, data, digital payments.
Athanassiou holds an MA in Music Business Management from the University of Westminster and a BA in History from the University of Essex. His MA thesis, Building a Heavy Metal World: Cultural Entrepreneurship in the Polish People’s Republic, has been published by the peer-reviewed academic journal: Artivate: A Journal of Entrepreneurship in the Arts.
