Following their (unofficial) cameo appearance during Dragonforce’s set last year, BABYMETAL will take a huge leap straight onto the main stage at Download Festival.
The metal/J-pop fusion phenomenon will be performing on Friday, 10 June, despite a statement made in 2014 that “there’s a time & a place for Baby Metal. Each to their own but Download Festival is not it,” made by Live Nation Promoter and Download booker, Andy Copping. But, you know what, at that time, I would have agreed with him wholeheartedly, and even then I think he was being polite.
The controversial band released their latest album ‘Metal Resistance’ last month, which received positive feedback from all outlets.
Kudos to Mr. Copping for swallowing his pride and booking what has proven to be a popular and successful act – after all, that is what it is about; giving the people what they want.
