Mini-album’Riff Propelled Grenade’ will be released on 31st May. The band recorded at Innersound Studios in York and The Parlour Studios in Northants. We asked Martin Durrent (Drums) what BastRads studio time was like, and who their major influences were along the way.
“Basically, it was 4 best mates just getting together and having an absolute blast making music we love. It was all done pretty quickly, we wanted to use the time in the studio as efficiently as possible, so there’d be plenty of time left for mixing. Martin Drury (singer) definitely takes the man of the match award for the recording sessions, he sang his heart out and we can’t wait for every one to hear the full results on May 31st.”
“We’re inspired by bands such as Def Leppard, Metallica, Judas Priest, Little Angels, Heaven’s Basement and Iron Maiden. We’ve always tried to put across a classic metal sound with a serious modern twist, and an enjoyable feel.”
‘One Thousand Tears of Pain’ will be available for FREE download until 8pm on Wednesday May 1st 2013. BastRad will be launching ‘Riff Propelled Grenade’ at Fibbers in York on Friday 31st May.
