Bloodstock 2021: Lawnmower Deth and more added to the festival

It’s crazy to think it’s only 41 days until the biggest live metal music event in 2021. As you may guess, the line-up keeps getting better for Bloodstock Festival.

Unfortunately, some of the international bands have had to pull out due to travel restrictions. One of these bands is Thursday headliners Night Flight Orchestra, who are now replaced by British metal party-animals Lawnmower Deth who will headline Thursday’s festivities. Trust us, you don’t want to miss this. LMD put out this statement:

We are truly sorry you’re not going to get Night Flight Orchestra. They’re terrific and awfully melodic. Naturally as the B-TEC replacement for them, we sound exactly the same, so your disappointment should be somewhat abated. Just think melodic Swedish hard rock, with balloons. However, the chance to get in a field, well a tent, with you lovely lot and some beer, did we mention beer, is the bar open yet? BLOODSTOCK, we’re coming! At our age, slightly slower, but we’ll be there. Bring beer. And dancing shoes. And beer.

In place of Soen on Friday (Sophie Stage), are doom trio Conan. Check out their latest video ‘Volt Thrower’ below:

Taking Lost Society’s place on the main stage, on Friday, are Divine Chaos. Check out their video for ‘Murder for Sale’ below:

Staying on the main stage, Lotus Eater replace Savage Master. The British metal mob has recently collaborated with Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes on their new track ‘Obliterate’. Check it out:

Shrapnel take the place of Noctem on Sophie Stage, Friday, check out their video for ‘Winds Of Slaughter‘:

British black metal from Necronautical replaces Blasphemer on Sunday’s Sophie Stage. Frontman and guitarist Naut had this to say: After over a year in wait, it will be an incredible experience to meet with the fans for our return, and right before the release of our new album “Slain in the Spirit”!

Finally, Spectral Darkwave are added to the Jagermeister stage line-up on Sunday. The band describe themselves as: “a hi-definition musical tour of human horror in sonic technicolour” ... I guess you will have to find out for yourself what that means. Here’s a video for ‘A Toll Is Due’ to whet your appetite:

Also, silent disco fans will be happy it will be returning to the Serpent’s Lair in the VIP section. This will see DJs Rich Harris (Total Rock, Desertfest) go against  DJ Lloyd Rust (Bearded Theory, Truck Festival) in the dualling channels of metal / rock vs cheesy pop and guilty pleasures. Britney vs Behemoth, Ace Of Base vs Ace of Spades, Judas Priest vs Maxi Priest, or at least we would like to see this.

All the latest additions will join headliners: DEVIN TOWNSEND (Friday), KREATOR (Saturday), and JUDAS PRIEST (Sunday). As well as SKINDRED, PARADISE LOST, BURY TOMORROW, DIAMOND HEAD, THERAPY?, VENOM PRISON, JINJER, VIO-LENCE, SAXON, THE WILDHEARTS, GLORYHAMMER, DARK TRANQUILLITY, BLEED FROM WITHIN, NAPALM DEATH, PHIL CAMPBELL & THE BASTARD SONS, MEMORIAM, RAMAGE INC., GREEN LUNG, CONJURER, ORANGE GOBLIN, RAGING SPEEDHORN, UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, SYLOSIS, WINTERFYLLETH, HACKTIVIST, THE CRAWLING, EVIL SCARECROW, ACID REIGN, SVALBARD, BORSTAL, PIST, SHARKS IN YOUR MOUTH, SEIDRBLOT, MOTHER VULTURE, BLOODSHOT DAWN, and EVILE, with more to be announced.
