Forging the sound of electronic-rock for over 20 years, Celldweller has amassed a billion streams and hundreds of placements across major films, TV shows and video games. In his guise as Klayton, the multifaceted producer and owner of independent label FiXT now invites fans into the dark, fractured world of Nosgoth through the cinematic soundtrack Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise.
The release arrives via Celldweller’s FiXT label in partnership with his new company Bit Bot Media, the latter serving as the official licensing and partnership arm for the project. Developed in direct collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, it stands as the companion soundtrack to the graphic novel that raised over $1.7 million in crowdfund backing to bring the project to life.
‘Elaleth’ leads the way as a single, arriving in two variations. The original, from Celldweller and Trivium‘s Matthew Kiichi Heafy, is built around a soaring, emotionally charged guitar solo. The remix leans into heavier instrumentation and a denser, more haunting electronic framework courtesy of Daedric, whose vocals interplay with Celldweller’s to create a dichotomy of ethereal versus visceral that heightens the track’s intensity and emotional depth.
Celldweller also unleashes a bold, modern reimagining of Raziel’s iconic theme with his cover of ‘Ozar Midrashim’, alongside remastered score selections that honour the franchise’s legacy, including a newly remastered version of Information Society‘s original ‘Ozar Midrashim’. Beyond the core songs, The Dead Shall Rise immerses listeners deeper into the Nosgoth epic with exclusive story-mode tracks, featuring cinematic musical beds, intricate sound design and original in-game voice-over dialogue. These atmospheric pieces are intended to blur the line between album and experience, placing fans directly inside the world’s crumbling pillars, haunted ruins and shifting timelines.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise is available now on all platforms from FiXT.
