Melbourne, Australia four-piece, Cold Irons Bound has a new single out with ‘Temper Down’ taken from their recently released third album, No Place I Can’t Find You out on Golden Robot Records.
The song is described as “a poignant exploration of the theme of isolation in a small town, a departure from the bustling city, and the emotional toll it takes on relationships.”
Available here you can also check out the video here at RAMzine.
Cold Irons Bound has established themselves as one of Australia’s most melodic bands. Fitting in easily between the rootsy alternate tunings of Americana and the heart of a scruffy rock ‘n’ roll bar band, Cold Irons Bound recall the best low-slung, distorted twang of the last fifty years. Influenced by a mix of classic indie rock (The Church, REM, The Replacements) and Americana (Dylan, Young, The Jayhawks), the band conjures a sound akin to Tom Petty jamming with Teenage Fanclub.
Featuring Mark Adams and Ben Carter on guitars and vocals, Sam Fiddian on bass and vocals and James Alderman on drums and percussion, the new single also has keyboard player Joe Cope (Big Smoke, The Hello Morning) added to the mix.
Back in May thy issued ‘Conversation’ as a single. Described as a swinging call and response rocker that takes on the ubiquity of noise and pointless assumptions in modern life, a tune with weight, delivered with heart; defensive in equal measure and enduringly memorable as a result. ‘Conversation’ is available here.
Previously, they issued ‘I Wasn’t Thinking At All’ as a single and you can check out the video for that right here at RAMzine and stream/buy here.
