DevilDriver Announce New Album Strike And Kill

DevilDriver have announced their eleventh studio album, Strike And Kill, set for release on July 10, 2026 via Napalm Records.

I once told Dez Fafara that he had an aura about him. I don’t think he was particularly impressed by the comment, but I stand by what I said. And now, with Strike And Kill, Dez and DevilDriver are back with the most badass aura yet. It’s actually quite nostalgic for this late 30s lady. I didn’t realise I needed new DevilDriver, but now it’s here I’m very much looking forward to the new album.

The groove metal veterans have dropped the record’s lead single and opening track, ‘Dig Your Own Grave’, accompanied by an official video. The track debuted on SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal and delivers exactly what you’d expect from DevilDriver at full tilt: machine gun riffs, relentless aggression and Fafara in absolutely no mood to play nice.

Fafara had plenty to say about the new record: “My headspace hasn’t changed, I have not become complacent or soft in my view of the world or in my music. Metal is our outlet as listeners and writers, so on this record we focused on getting it all out lyrically, and backing those lyrics with savage, relentless music that fuels the heavy California groove like no other.”

On the lead single, he added: “‘Dig Your Own Grave’ is about how one wrong decision, one wrong move can see your whole world turned upside down, effectively digging your own grave. It can also refer to how your decisions can affect someone else. This is why there’s the line ‘six feet ain’t deep enough for you’, because only a deep, deep hole is fitting for what you’ve done or tried to do to others.”

Strike And Kill sees a significant lineup development with the return of founding bassist Jon Miller, joining Fafara alongside guitar duo Alex Lee and Gabe Mangold and drummer Davier Ortega Perez. The album follows their Dealing With Demons double album project, the first volume of which spent 15 weeks at number one on US metal radio.

The band have also announced a North American tour kicking off August 14 in San Diego with Upon A Burning Body and Ov Sulfur in support, running through to September 5 in Anaheim.

Strike And Kill is available to pre-order now via Napalm Records in multiple vinyl and CD formats.
