Running Back to the UK, Robert Jon & The Wreck

Currently on tour in the UK, roots-rockers Robert Jon & The Wreck invite you to ‘Run Back To Me’, their new single, a self-produced ballad.

It transpires that songwriter Desirae Megan was scrolling through Instagram and came across a beautiful photo of Robert Jon and his family when the initial idea for ‘Run Back To Me’ first came about. Touched by it, she considered how hard it can be to be away from the ones you love while on tour.

A melody immediately popped into her head, and she knew she wanted to write something to help Robert, River and Rachael feel more connected to Robert Jon while he was away on tour. Months then went by until, travelling on a road trip to Phoenix, Arizona for a Robert Jon & The Wreck gig with her partner and the keyboardist for the band, Jake Abernathie, that five-hour drive led to her taking what would later be called ‘Run Back To Me’ several steps forward as it became a poignant southern rock ballad.

Slow dancing, piano tinkling, sung with soul, there’s some heavy-gauged guitar strings wrangling their way like Ernie Isley sitting in with The Allman Brothers on Robert Jon & The Wreck‘s new single ‘Run Back To Me’.

You can stream the single and check out the official music video here at RAMzine.

Bridging that southern rock tradition with California soul, since forming back in 2011, Robert Jon & The Wreck have developed a global following. Their most recent album, ‘Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes’, is available now.
