The Huff brothers are reuniting with Mike Brignardello, as Giant‘s original lineup reform for a special full show in Milan, Italy at the Frontiers Rock Festival 2026, taking place from the 1st to the 3rd of May.
Lead guitarist Dann Huff, drummer David Huff, Nashville session bass player Mike Brignardello, alongside jazz and rock keyboardist Alan Pasqua got together under the Giant umbrella in the late 80s. Their debut album ‘Last Of The Runaways’, released on A&M Records in 1989, and the follow-up ‘Time To Burn’ on Epic in 1991 came amid much touring, with the band becoming an influence on many melodic and hard rock bands that followed.
Disbanding in the early 90s, the members went on to become involved in different projects, the Huffs notably in production. They reformed, without Pasqua, for ‘III’ in 2001, Giant‘s first on the Frontiers label. However, established commitments meant the band couldn’t tour nor carry on in quite the same way. With Dann Huff’s blessing, David Huff and Brignardello then brought on board vocalist Terry Brock (Strangeways) and guitarist John Roth (Winger, Starship) to release ‘Promise Land’, the band only performing one show at a Nashville club for a charity event in 2017, and that with the original band members.
With David Huff now based in Europe, he and Frontiers sat down and planned how they could take the continued interest in the band forward. Swedish rock band Perfect Plan covering Giant‘s hit single ‘Stay’ in 2019 proved the key ingredient, with Huff and Brignardello keen on inviting Kent Hilli to sing, and Dann Huff not only approving but appearing on lead guitar on the single ‘Never Die Young’ ahead of 2022’s ‘Shifting Time’ album, thereafter followed by ‘Stand And Deliver’ in 2025.
The lineup for Giant‘s Frontiers Rock Festival 2026 appearance will be Dann Huff on lead guitar, David Huff on drums, Mike Brignardello on bass, Mark Oakley (who served as second guitarist during the band’s first two album tours), Larry Hall on keyboards and U.S. singer Bryan Cole. The material for their set will be primarily drawn from the band’s first two albums.
As part of the festival’s exclusive Platinum VIP Experience, fans will also have the rare opportunity to attend a Q&A session with Giant at the venue, offering an intimate look into the band’s history, legacy and this very special reunion.
Taking place at the Live Club in Trezzo sull’Adda, Milan, the three-day event hosted by Italian-based melodic and hard rock record label Frontiers follows on from the success of last year’s outing. Over 20 bands will perform. Previously announced dates for some acts have changed since they were first announced.
Friday 1st May is when Giant will be performing their main set and taking part in a Q&A session. They will also be performing an acoustic set on Saturday 2nd May.
Friday also sees fellow stateside band House Of Lords led by original singer James Christian performing. Christian’s wife Robin Beck and her band will also be playing live that day, as will Swedish bands Creye and Streetlight, plus Finland’s Shiraz Lane.
Starship featuring Mickey Thomas will headline on the Friday. A natural extension of the Jefferson Airplane family tree, Mickey Thomas joined Jefferson Starship having scored a hit with ‘Fooled Around And Fell In Love’ while singing with the Elvin Bishop Band. He would also be at the mic when Jefferson Starship went to the top of the charts with ‘We Built This City’, ‘Sara’ and ‘Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now’.
Night Ranger will headline on Saturday 2nd May. With multi-platinum and gold albums and hit singles to their name, they’ve sold over 17 million albums. The band will also be undertaking a Q&A session.
Joining them will be H.E.A.T. from Sweden, who’ve emerged as one of the most dynamic forces in modern melodic hard rock, and fellow countrymen Degreed who’ll be performing both electric and acoustic shows that day. Other Saturday acts include Switzerland’s Fighter V, reunited 80s USA act Heavens Edge and British band Atlantic.
Michael Sweet will be putting in an acoustic set on the Saturday before performing with Stryper on the Sunday. With more than 10 million albums sold worldwide and still going strong, Stryper will not only be performing their unique brand of “heavenly metal” as the day’s headline act, but there is also the opportunity to join them for a VIP lunch.
Also on Sunday, newly signed to the Frontiers label, Nelson will be putting in double time performing both electric and acoustic sets, as will former Mötley Crüe and The Dead Daisies vocalist John Corabi. Amped-up sets are due from Germany’s Frontline, Swedish rockers Confess, international act Transatlantic Radio, and Australian singer Cassidy Paris will be performing an acoustic set, while Italy’s Hell In The Club appear to be the only band representing the record label’s homeland. They’ll be live on Sunday.
