Eva Under Fire Share New Song ‘Starshine’

Detroit hard rockers Eva Under Fire have released a brand new song and video, ‘Starshine’, via Better Noise Music.

It arrives off the back of a four month run across the US supporting labelmates Five Finger Death Punch in arenas and amphitheatres, and the song is very much born from that experience. Booming, stadium sized drums set the pace, a hooky guitar lead coils around the rhythm, and frontwoman Amanda Lyberg shifts between soulful and commanding before the track lifts into a soaring chorus.

The video brings that energy to the screen, while the song itself captures the strange comedown that follows months on the road. Amanda explains:

“When you’re up at 3am and can’t sleep because something feels off… that’s the ‘Starshine.’ Reflecting on how amazing this tour has been, I felt the song was a really great description of those post-tour blues. It’s changed us. It keeps us up at night. Normal life will never feel the same, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”

It caps a big year for the band, which also saw the release of their album Villainous, featuring a collaboration with In This Moment‘s Maria Brink.

Away from the stage, Amanda is a practising psychotherapist specialising in trauma, grief, loss and addiction recovery, and drew on that experience to make sure every band member felt heard during recording. Her personal story also inspired the award winning 2023 short film My Rockstar, which uses the band’s music throughout.

Since their 2022 debut Love, Drugs & Misery, Eva Under Fire have passed 100 million streams and shared stages with Bush, Bad Wolves, Pop Evil, Skillet and Finger Eleven, as well as playing festivals including Aftershock and Inkcarceration. Their track ‘Blow’ featuring Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills also featured on the soundtrack to horror thriller The Retaliators.

More tour dates and news are promised soon.
