Australian alternative rock duo Fyre Byrd has just dropped their third single ‘Put Me In A Dress’ through Golden Robot Records, a song they believe stakes out their sense of individuality.
“‘Put Me In A Dress’ has always been a song for us that we can’t tame, said the band “From the songwriting process to playing it at shows to bringing it to the studio, this is the one track that has always stayed the same.
“It’s a reflection on this part of us that we try to contain. The part that we try to change to suit others but in essence is what makes us unique. When it comes to our sound we stay true to that and let the songs speak for themselves.”
Fronted by singularly named Josh on vocals and guitar and female drummer Daniella, Fyre Bird’s debut single ‘Take Me Out’ reached No 9 on rock charts across US radio networks, and hit 10,000 streams on Spotify within the first month of its release. “’Take Me Out’ was about trying to find ourselves ,” said the band, prior to commenting on their following singles “Anywhere I Am Is Home’ spoke to finding home and accepting who we are and ’Put Me In A Dress’ is a reminder to not tame what makes us unique.”
