Grand are back. The Swedish AOR band, formed on the southern outskirts of Stockholm, return with Guilty Pleasure, their third album, out on 21st August through Frontiers Music Srl. The title track is available now as a single.
They arrived in 2022 with a self-titled debut, then deepened their melodic rock sound on 2024’s Second To None. This third record pushes it further still.
“‘Guilty Pleasure’ is a catchy, feel-good track driven by an infectious riff, a memorable chorus, and lyrics about romanticising the past,” the band said. “Both the music and lyrics reflect on and celebrate the spirit of the ’80s and ’90s, while bringing it firmly into 2026 through modern production and musicianship. The music video also creates a fun and engaging story that perfectly complements the song’s nostalgic yet contemporary feel.”
On the album, they added: “The album is a collection of our own guilty pleasures. We’ve blended AOR with ’80s rock and pop into a high-energy mix filled with pure joy, all wrapped in a modern, high-end production. With a strong five-member lineup, we’re back bigger and bolder than ever.”
Originally a trio, founding members Mattias Olofsson (lead and backing vocals) and Jakob Svensson (guitars, backing vocals) were joined last year by Maja Thorén (keyboards, backing vocals), Johannes Arvidsson (bass) and Axel Nilsson (drums, percussion).
Guilty Pleasure was written and recorded during a highly productive spell, and the band frame it as the next evolution of their sound, rooted in classic melodic rock while pushing the genre forward through passion, detail and a strong bond with fans around the world.
The album’s first single, ‘Wild Heart’, set the tone. “‘Wild Heart’ tells the story of a lost teenage love, exploring whether opposites truly attract,” the band said. “Driven by a strong, recurring keyboard hook, the song blends melodic rock, AOR, and synthwave into a powerful and cohesive mix.”
The full tracklist runs: ‘Wild Heart’, ‘Guilty Pleasure’, ‘Have A Little Faith In Me’, ‘Coldhearted’, ‘Party Galore’, ‘Still So Beautiful’, ‘I’m Ready’, ‘Undo’, ‘Amelie’, ‘Beggin” and ‘Love Me Or Leave Me’.
Grand‘s first single from the new album was ‘Wild Heart‘ and the band said of it: “‘Wild Heart’ tells the story of a lost teenage love, exploring whether opposites truly attract. Driven by a strong, recurring keyboard hook, the song blends melodic rock, AOR, and synthwave into a powerful and cohesive mix.”
